  4. INTRODUCTION

  6.     This README file supplements the normal HTML documentation
  7.     supplied with GPL Ghostscript 8.15.  For more information on
  8.     GPL Ghostscript please see the file "doc/index.html".

  10.     If you're looking for instructions on compiling or
  11.     installing ESP Ghostscript, see the file "INSTALL".

  14. WHAT IS ESP GHOSTSCRIPT?
  15.  
  16.     ESP Ghostscript is a customized version of Ghostscript
  17.     currently based off GPL Ghostscript 8.15 with additional
  18.     fixes from GPL Ghostscript CVS.
  19.  
  20.     ESP Ghostscript includes an enhanced autoconf-based
  21.     configuration script, the CUPS raster driver to support CUPS
  22.     raster printer drivers, and additional patches and drivers
  23.     from various Linux distributors.

  26. WHAT IS INCLUDED?
  27.  
  28.     ESP Ghostscript 8.15.3 consists of the following:
  29.  
  30.         - GPL Ghostscript 8.15
  31.     - Selected bug fixes from GPL Ghostscript CVS
  32.     - Enhanced PCL XL driver.
  33.     - Shared library and driver support for Linux/UNIX.
  34.     - The CUPS "driver" that generates a series of raster
  35.       images for CUPS printer drivers.
  36.     - Nearly all known free printer drivers which have to
  37.       be compiled into GhostScript - drivers listed with
  38.       "Execution style: Ghostscript" on linuxprinting.org.
  39.       Not included are some obsolete drivers such as hpdj
  40.       which is replaced by the included pcl3 driver.
  41.     - All known Uniprint configuration files (*.upp) as
  42.       listed on linuxprinting.org.
  43.     - Patches to add the NOMEDIAATTRS option to Ghostscript,
  44.       which allows CUPS drivers to use media options
  45.       separate from Ghostscript.
  46.     - Support files for CUPS.
